my fear

What exactly do you fear? What really are you afraid of? Is it that you will fail, or suffer loss? What is it really? Think about this carefully. Now let’s address this fear, let’s get to the bottom of it. There are a number of things that I am afraid of.  I am afraid of failing. I fear starting something and then failing in doing that thing. Let me bring it home for you. I fear not been able to succeed in life. I fear trying out the different ideas that come to my mind. Why, you may ask? Because, I fear I will fail trying out those ideas. And when that happens I will feel bad, and I will become ashamed of what other people will think and say of me.  You see, I have always been conscious of what people say about me. What they think of me? Do they think good or bad of me? Will they laugh at me, when they get to know I failed while trying out something? Will they try to discourage me from trying to achieve something in the first place? Or will they simply talk me do...

why me?

Ever had one of those days where nothing seems to go your way. Everything you do and I mean everything seems to backfire with a big bang. Even the smallest things just seems to rollover and crumble at your slight attempt. Everything conspires against you and nothing you do works. Why? Troubles upon troubles slowly unfolds itself upon you. In despair and desperation you wonder, why me? This is not what you hoped for. It is not what you dreamed about. How then has it befallen you? These are the ripened fruits of your constant thoughts; the products of your unique creative ability. You created these in thoughts and brought it to being through continuous pondering and action. You can alter it the same way and make it all go away. Slowly but surely you can alter the course of your life; if you gradually change the thoughts you carry about your life. Your thoughts are the building blocks of your future. They are the very things you need to build a bright tomorrow....

simple steps to success.

Success means different things to different people. What does success mean to you? Is it leading a happy life doing the things you enjoy? Or is it, serving humanity with your gifts and abilities? Having millions of dollars in the bank? Or maybe it is having all you want in life? Whatever success means to you, the simple steps to success apply equally, to the little things and the big things in life. The first step to success is, conquering your fears Conquer your fears Fear paralyzes the mind and slowly robs it of energy. Nothing useful comes from fear, except that it stifles the mind’s creativity. Learn to face your fears. What do you fear? Do you fear rejection, or maybe you fear failure? Overcoming your fears is the first simple step to success. Freedom from fear empowers you, by freeing up useful energy for the mind. This energy the mind uses to become creative. The creative process requires energy; fear drains you of this energy. Conquering your fear makes this energy av...

just think

Have you ever thought about, what worrying accomplishes? You sat down and thought about the effects of worrying? And you recalled the solutions to problems, brought about, by your fears and anxieties? And at the end of the day, you told yourself, worrying was a helpful exercise to indulge in whenever you had a problem. We worry when we have a problem because we desire a solution. Funny thing is, it never results in a solution, but is a waste of useful energy and time. It gets worse, as the effects of fears and worries means, not only time and energy is wasted , but life itself. Worrying destroys our health and our quality of life. And it leaves the body susceptible to a range of chronic diseases such as hypertension. So remind me, why do we worry again? Oh yes, because we need a solution, an answer to those burning issues of life. Now think about this, we are equipped with the most amazing problem solving tool in the universe. Its capabilities are even beyond what modern technology ...

courage to pursue

We need courage to pursue our goals and visions. We need courage to face and solve our troubles. We need a strong resolve to go on, not minding the obstacles before us, not even minding our weaknesses.   Understand that your character will be tested and tried as you march along the path to progress in life. As you make progress in the spiritual and the physical things of life, trials and tests will definitely come. The determination to succeed, to achieve our goals and vision must be stronger than any obstacles on our path. It must be stronger than even our weaknesses. For success is triumph over the obstacles we face. Triumph in spite of our weaknesses.   You see, great success is not achieved by reason of strength, or even of superior intellect and skill alone. No, great success is achieved because, somehow, you believe you are able, you believe that you have what it takes to succeed.

strength from within

Our weaknesses can be a source of strength. But we must be willing to acknowledge these weaknesses, and patiently wait on our God to work through us to turn them into strength.   Acknowledging our weaknesses is but the first step. We must then examine such weaknesses, so that we understand fully what these are, and how to use them to the fullest. There is nothing in life that does not have a purpose. Our weaknesses are, as much a part of our uniqueness and rare abilities, as are our strengths. Understand that, our weaknesses and strengths carefully balance out. It is why we are what we are, and who we turn out to be.   Learn to critically examine your weaknesses, endeavour to understand them. Do this, by meditation and prayer. For you will find out that, out of your weakness, great strength can come. By making our weakness areas of strength, we come to rise above the obstacles on our path.

dreams can come true

The dreams that come to our hearts, are like pictures of tomorrow from which we must derive the plans and maps to our visions of the future. Dreams are not given to us to frustrate us in life. They serve rather to inspire us, to stir up our potentials, our abilities to solve problems. Our dreams are realizable, they can be achieved. Indeed all our dreams can come true. We only have to look beyond today’s obstacles to see the fulfilment of our dreams. Understand that, obstacles are as formidable as our minds make them to be.   Change your thoughts about a problem, and you will see that it has really been a solution to some other problem, all along. For today’s problems, contain the answers to tomorrow’s problems. To find the answers to today’s problems, sometimes, requires, that we look back at yesterday’s problems and mistakes.   Our goals look impossible, when we fail to learn from yesterday’s failures, and mistakes. Every problem is a clue to the solution t...

time for every purpose

An important fact of life is, the realisation, that every purpose has it’s time and season. The season is, the time most appropriate, most suitable, for that purpose to occur. Life gives to us the challenges of defining, understanding, managing and utilizing time.   Life is primarily about time and purpose. To understand purpose within specific time means, we know what to do and when to do it. Our actions, words, thoughts and deeds, would be properly placed in time and purpose. Our lives would be fuller, richer and we, better able to draw upon the potentials and skills deep within us. Having an understanding of the purpose for our life, helps us focus on the important and necessary things. It gives direction to vision, guidance to mission and meaning to life.   What happens though, when the desire to accomplish a purpose, precedes time for that purpose? Then the virtue of patience is required. For that which is desired, is not supposed to be fulfilled now, but...

levels of experiences

In life we go through different levels of experiences each designed to train and build us, define and refine us. What we learn from these, helps mould our character and attitude towards life. Having the right attitude is important. It strengthens our resolve to press on despite the disappointments of bitter experiences.   From such, with a little patience, we can learn some of life’s most valuable lessons and receive wisdom.   Every experience we come upon in life has a purpose; to bring us closer to fulfilling our missions and realizing our visions. We have been equipped with the talents and skills to handle each such experience. Our experiences are for us to learn and profit from; in order that we may share with and teach to, others.   Someone will come by much gain from your experiences, and the both of you will be the better for it. Unveil the wealth of your experience and receive something of great value in return. One of the joys ...

beauty of quietness

As the seeds of our vision take root, and begin to breakthrough the obstacles on our path, then we must beautify ourselves with the virtues of quietness. We must be still and tranquil as we faithfully observe its growth. If our minds are still and at peace, then we can receive fresh inspiration, wisdom, and creative ideas, from within and from without.   A moment of quietness is one of building inner strength. It is a time of concentrating on the vital ingredients for good success. This helps us to draw deep from the wells of insight, creativity and divine inspiration.   We draw deep, from the wells of wisdom, as we meditate on scriptural truths. Quietness is the fertile soil on which the seeds of creative wisdom grow into a fruitful tree. Unless you learn to be quiet, you cannot be a vessel for creative wisdom, and excellent understanding.

capacity to excel

It takes more than strength to excel in life. It also takes a clear vision, a proper understanding of our mission, and a discovery of our inner resources and ability to persevere.   Our visions are beyond the obstacles of today. Our capacity to persevere turns these obstacles into stepping-stones, bringing about the manifestation of our dreams. Strength comes when we focus on, and persist in the things we belief. We receive great wisdom and develop unique abilities, during periods of persistence to our vision, focus on our mission, and faith in our God inspired goals.   In order to excel, we must remain true to our purpose and be willing to endure the pains of the season of growth. Growth is a time of gradual change and also of pain. But the pains of growth are required to mature us into the fullness of our abilities.   We must wait for the seeds of our vision to take root and breakthrough the obstacles on our path, as it grows, then matures an...

the compelling need of life

With all the ups and downs we go through in life, the compelling need of life is, to focus on the things that task to the fullest extent possible, the gifts, talents and skills we were born with.   For to do otherwise, is to sell ourselves short in the game of life and to place ourselves in the position where we receive far less than we ought to of life's fullest rewards.   But we need to understand that all of this comes about in our own unique process of growth. And in that process there is a level of pain to experience. The pains of growth are designed to mature us into the fullness of our gifts, talents and skills.   The ultimate goal is, that we may use these to be of service to others. This is what it means to be successful in life. I know of no other meaning of the word success.
